How do I save videos from a JVC digital video camera to an Acer Laptop with Windows Vista?

I need to transfer my videos from my JVC video camera to an Acer laptop. Pleeeeeeaaaaase can you help?

    If you have have Vista you have VIDEO IMPORT..
    you need to have a Firewire connected to your Firewire INPUT..at the LapTop–Upload(side)..PORT…
