How do you get video clips on to windows movie maker?

Posted on February 20th, 2010 by admin in video clips | 2 Comments »

On YouTube there’s a realplayer download thing and it allows you to download the video. I want to get clips from the video but it won’t let me put it in windows movie maker to edit.

Where do people get their clips to put on to YouTube?

Thanks!

The Real Player download is a flash file, flv, but you need a wmv file for the movie maker. You can use the Internet Video Converter to convert the Real Player files to wmv format. http://www.download.com/Internet-Video-Converter-Standard-/3000-2194_4-10687908.html

If you look at the Windows Movie Maker help guide, it gives you a list of the ONLY files that you’re able to use in Windows Movie Maker. If the file type that you want to put into it isn’t any of these, then you need to get a video converter that can change the video clip to the format that you need.

If you just don’t know how to get any videos into Windows Movie Maker, do this:
    1. Open Windows Movie Maker. (Duh!) ;)
    2. Click import video.
    3. Find the file that you want in Windows Movie Maker. (It has to be saved in My Documents, of course.)
    4. Double-click the file, or click "Import."
    5. Once it’s done loading, your video is in Windows Movie Maker! Woo-hoo! XD

    Hope I helped!
