I’m looking for a program that joins video clips into one big video. It has to be freeware and you don’t have to register or buy it. I want the full program. I am using windows xp and windows movie maker is slow and it crashes.

One you probably have already Windows Movie Maker its in Start>All Progams>Movie Maker

I need some really funny videos on youtube?

Posted on January 27th, 2010 by admin in funny videos | 10 Comments »

Ok I am looking for really funny videos on youtube, one that I can laugh really hard at, but I can’t find any because it’s really hard to make me laugh. I don’t usually laugh at stuff other people think is funny. But if you know of any videos please post a link or tell me what to type in.

I’m the same exact way. Things that make other people laugh, I usually just smile or don’t find funny at all. Go to youtube and look up "Scarlet takes a tumble". I just about died laughing at that. I’d provide a link, but I’m at work right now and can’t access youtube. Also, you can look up reaction videos, those tend to be funny, or anything regarding "best pranks". Good luck with your search!

How do I import videos from my camera on to Windows Movie Maker?

Posted on January 27th, 2010 by admin in videos | 3 Comments »

Every time I try using videos I’ve uploaded on to my computer on Windows Movie Maker, it won’t let me import it. I upload the video from my camera on to my computer and save it in the "My Videos" folder. Then, when I select "Import Videos" on Movie Maker, the file doesn’t show up. I have a Nikon Coolpix camera and a Dell laptop. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi Lin,

There should be a setting on your Nikon that can change the types of files your movies are saved as. If not, you can always try a file converter online.

Also, just as a helpful link, here’s the Movie Maker site that explains how to transfer videos from your devices to your computer: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/getstarted/DLmovies.mspx.

Hope this helps!

How can I make one video using both video clips and still images?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in video clips | 1 Comment »

I’m trying to make a video using both video clips and still images. Is there a special program I need to do this? I’ve tried 2 programs I have already, which are Memories on TV and Windows Movie Maker, but neither of them do what I want them to do. Any suggestions??

Windows movie maker will work
just import the photos and video
move the video to the time-line
split it anywhere you want to insert a photo
add the photo in the time-line
publish to computer
done

What type of video camera do I need to upload video clips to my computer?

Posted on January 20th, 2010 by admin in video clips | 2 Comments »

Do I need a digital camcorder or a digital camera with video? I know digital camers use memory cards, is it the same for digital camcorders? Does it matter? Seems like everyone, except me, can upload video clips.

If you don’t need real high quality clips, you can use most newer digital still cameras to get video clips and it is real easy to load them on the computer from the memory card or through the USB cord. They will also already be in a file format that the computer should automatically recognize.

For higher quality video or longer videos you can also use a video camera that uses mini-dvd’s. Then you can take the disk out of the camera and play it on your dvd player or in the dvd drive in your computer without any wires to hook up.

How can I transfer videos from a non-digital video camera to my computer?

Posted on January 20th, 2010 by admin in videos | 3 Comments »

I’ve got an older video camera that is not digital and I can’t transfer video to my computer. When I hook-up the camera to the computer using the USB cord that came with the camera, nothing happens. And when I search the computer for video cameras it doesn’t show up. It’s like the comp doesn’t even read it. I don’t know if there was ever a disc with the camera but if there was it’s long gone.
The camera is a Sony Handycam Hi8. Not sure what year.
What can I do? I really want to edit my videos.

Hi8 is analog. Youneed to get an "analog/digital bridge" like those from Canopus or Pinnacle (Dazzle). USB transfer will not work. That is used for streaming or transferring stills from a memory card only.
